Johnny Keane and The Cliffs of Moher

Today was a fantastic day. There was actually blue sky (for a few minutes)! We spent the early afternoon at Davy's listening to Johnny Keane (the old headmaster of a school out here) who might have a touch of ADHD. I feel like went all over Ireland and covered Irish history from the Ice Age on in less than 2 hours. I can't really tell you what we learned - have you ever tried to follow an excited Irish man's language? - but I did pick up a few interesting things. Here's for you Noah: Where we are staying is where a vast majority of the Spanish Armada was killed. They are buried in mass graves behind Doolin. Also for you (and for my Mom), the Cliffs of Moher might be more recognizable to you at the Cliffs of Insanity from The Princess Bride. I have picked up a few handy translations since being here: Hob = stove, take-away = to go bags, and half-four = 4:30. I am fairly excited that Davy has given me a low whistle in E. How many people can say they have a handmade whistle from a Grammy award winner artist? Not many, I'm thinking. Why do people hang their clothes out to dry when it is almost always drizzly and wet here? Are they actually drying? Lastly, we do ziplock bags and chicken soup not exist in Ireland? Only twisty tie bags and cup o' noodles. Fail. Oh well, its still a reasonable trade-off to be in such a beautiful place. Miss you all. Um, can't you post responses on my blog, just saying...PS
